DermaSilk in PEDIATRIC VULVITIS
On the October Number of Giornale Italiano di Dermatologia e Venereologia has been published the study "Clinical effectiveness of a special textile in the treatment of recurrent pediatric inflammatory vulvitis: an open label pilot study" (Vol.146 - No.5) that demonstrates the efficacy of DermaSilk Briefs in the treatment of Pediatric inflammatory Vulvitis.
It was a prospective cohort study of 12 pre-pubertal girls, aged between 2 and 10 years (mean age 5,75 y.), affected by recurrent PIV. DermaSilk briefs were useful both in infective vulvitis (4 patients on 12) - with the antibiotic/antimycotic treatment - both in non specific irritative PIV (8 on 12) where DermaSilk was together with a standard aqueous cream/emulsifying ointment.
